The real Maine
is famous for its people.
Discover the people, places, and stories behind this state we love.
We spend time with the people who make Maine,
then share their stories with care.
We meet with business owners, capture their stories, and share them with care through writing, photography, audio, and video. We also ask what they’re famous for, and the real answer is rarely a product. It is heart, history, skill, and community.
Meet the Mainers behind the Midcoast and Downeast regions you love.

Meet the Maine Famous founders:
April & Buck
We are April and Buck, a husband and wife team who believe that the work of small business owners deserves to be seen and celebrated. We built Maine Famous as a home for connection, curiosity, and care. We travel across the state, sit with owners, ask real questions, and work alongside photographers, writers, and audio and video creatives to bring each story to life. April guides the voice and narrative direction. Buck leads design and brand expression, ensuring everything we publish feels intentional and beautifully crafted.
This work has brought us into kitchens and workshops, onto farms and docks, and around tables with remarkable people. It has changed how we see Maine. We hope it does the same for you.
If you want to learn more about who we are and how this all began, check out our About page.
