Acadia Elopement Collective on MDI

“My love of nature comes from my parents,” says Corey Lynn Tucker. She grew up tagging along on hunting trips and gardening ventures before her family moved to Maine in 1999. It wasn’t until much later that she came to know the region as more than a retreat. It became the foundation for a calling, one rooted in reverence for Acadia National Park, known as Dawnland, the homeland of the Wabanaki, People of the First Light.

When Corey began photographing elopements in Acadia in 2017, she remembers how the park felt: quiet, wild, and alive, yet increasingly crowded in peak seasons. “It broke my heart when I saw people parking on vegetation, standing in the road, not respecting the land,” she explains. “I want this place to remain sacred.” In recent years, as visitation has surged and rangers have been stretched thin, that commitment has only deepened.

Out of that passion she built the Acadia Elopement Collective, a team of talented photographers. If Corey is not the lead photographer, an associate from the collective will capture the elopement, while Corey provides planning and timeline guidance and completes all final editing to maintain her signature style.

Working with a couple means more than just snapping photos. Corey plans and curates the journey from start to finish, suggesting sunrise on a mountain ridge, a quiet forest grove, or a sailboat ride at golden hour. She connects couples with florists, hair and makeup artists, bakers, lodging, and experiences like kayaking, biking, and favorite local restaurants. “Most people don’t want the stress of a big wedding,” she says. “They want something meaningful to them, and I help them create their day their way.”

Her approach is grounded in nature and in the stories within it. “I want to avoid crowds,” Corey notes. “I want to guide them into quiet magic.” From the first consultation to the finished gallery, every detail matters. The result is a collection of photographs that feel cinematic, soulful, and real, where couples often say they found more than a photographer; they found a trusted ally.

For couples dreaming of a day that echoes who they are through the land they love, the Acadia Elopement Collective offers a blend of artistry and intention. Or, as Corey puts it: “Your love, your adventure, your rules. We’ll handle the rest.”
